The M.A. FORD. 20012000 is a solid carbide, straight-flute die drill bit designed for precision holemaking in demanding materials. Built to Series 200 standards and conforming to DIN specifications, it features a 135-degree split point that reduces walking and minimizes the need for a center punch. The uncoated carbide construction delivers consistent cutting performance across a range of workpiece materials. With a diameter of 0.1200 inches and an overall length of 1.5 inches, this bit is sized for close-tolerance die work and precision drilling applications. A right-hand cutting direction and web-thinned geometry reduce thrust and improve chip evacuation.
This drill bit is suited for holemaking operations in cast iron, carbon steel, alloy steel, stainless steel, austenitic stainless steel, non-ferrous metals, titanium, high-temperature alloys, hardened materials, ceramic, and glass. The straight-flute design is particularly effective in brittle or hard materials where a helical flute may cause chipping or breakout. Typical applications include tool and die work, mold making, and precision machining in both job shop and production environments.
Designed for holemaking in cast iron, non-ferrous metals, stainless steel, alloy steel, austenitic stainless steel, ceramic, glass, hardened materials, high-temperature alloys, and titanium. Right-hand cutting direction; intended for use in standard drill chucks and collet holders accepting a 0.1200-inch shank diameter.
Installation and use should be performed by machinists or tool and die professionals familiar with carbide tooling. Ensure the workpiece is securely fixtured and the spindle is at a full stop before changing or inspecting the bit. Carbide is brittle — avoid side loading and do not use this bit in applications that generate significant lateral force. Verify chuck or collet runout is within acceptable limits before use to prevent premature breakage.
