The M.A. FORD. 20006350 is a solid carbide, straight-flute die drill bit designed for precision holemaking in demanding materials. Measuring 0.0635 inches in diameter (Wire Size 52), it features a 135-degree split point and a web-thinned tip geometry that reduces entry force and improves centering accuracy. The two-flute, right-hand cutting configuration handles tight-tolerance work, holding a diameter tolerance of +0.0000 to -0.0005 inches. With an overall length of 1.5 inches and a 0.3125-inch flute, this bit fits standard collet and die-holder setups used by toolmakers, machinists, and precision fabricators.
This drill bit is suited for holemaking in cast iron, non-ferrous metals, stainless steel, carbon steel, alloy steel, austenitic stainless steel, high-temperature alloys, titanium, hardened materials, ceramics, and glass. Its uncoated solid carbide construction makes it appropriate for both conventional drilling and die-making applications where dimensional accuracy is critical. The Series 200 designation places it within M.A. FORD.'s standard short-length die drill lineup, commonly used in tool rooms, job shops, and precision manufacturing environments.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use solid carbide die drill bit for toolmaking and precision machining applications requiring Wire Size 52 (0.0635-inch diameter) straight-flute geometry. Conforms to DIN standards.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or toolmakers familiar with carbide tooling. Secure the bit in a collet, drill chuck, or die holder rated for the shank diameter before operation. Carbide is brittle — avoid side loading, interrupted cuts without appropriate feeds, or impact-type drilling. Follow the machine manufacturer and OSHA guidelines for spindle speed, feed rate, and workpiece fixturing appropriate to the material being drilled.
