The M.A. FORD. 20005900 is a solid carbide die drill bit engineered for precision holemaking in demanding materials. It features a 135-degree split point that reduces walking and minimizes the need for a center punch before drilling. With a 0.0591-inch (1.50 mm) diameter and an overall length of 38 mm, this bit is built for tight-tolerance work in tooling, die, and mold applications. The uncoated carbide construction provides excellent rigidity and wear resistance in short-run and high-precision operations. Machinists and toolroom technicians rely on this type of bit where dimensional accuracy is critical.
This drill bit is suited for use on cast iron, non-ferrous metals, stainless steel, alloy steel, austenitic stainless steel, hardened materials, high-temperature alloys, titanium, ceramic, and glass. Its straight-flute design and web-thinned point make it appropriate for vertical machining centers, drill presses, and manual toolroom work where chip evacuation and precise entry are priorities. The right-hand cutting direction is standard for conventional spindle rotation. Installation and use of this drill bit should be performed by qualified machinists familiar with small-diameter carbide tooling. Secure the workpiece firmly and verify spindle runout is within acceptable limits before use, as carbide bits at this diameter are sensitive to lateral load and vibration. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing tooling. Avoid hand pressure or side loading, which can cause carbide to chip or fracture at small diameters.
