The M.A. FORD. 20005200 is a solid carbide die drill bit designed for precision holemaking in demanding materials. It carries a 0.0520 inch diameter corresponding to Wire Size 55 and features a 135-degree split point with web thinning for accurate self-starting entry and reduced thrust. The straight-flute geometry is purpose-built for drilling hard, abrasive, and difficult-to-machine workpieces. With a 1.5 inch overall length and 0.3125 inch flute length, this bit suits compact tooling setups in die and mold work. It is uncoated solid carbide, offering rigidity and wear resistance without a coating layer that could affect tight diameter tolerances.
This drill bit is suited for holemaking operations in cast iron, steel, alloy steel, stainless steel including austenitic grades, non-ferrous metals, titanium, high temperature alloys, hardened materials, ceramic, and glass. It is commonly used in die-making, mold-making, toolroom work, and precision machining environments where small-diameter holes with tight tolerances are required.
