The M.A. FORD 20004000 is a solid carbide, straight-flute die drill bit designed for precision holemaking in demanding materials. It carries a 0.0400 inch (Wire Size 60) cutting diameter with a 135-degree split point and web-thinned geometry that reduces thrust and improves centering on entry. The uncoated carbide construction provides the rigidity and wear resistance required when drilling cast iron, stainless steel, alloy steel, and high-temperature alloys. With an overall length of 1.5 inches and a 0.25 inch flute length, this bit is suited for machinists and tool-and-die professionals working in tight geometries or small-bore applications.
This drill bit is built for holemaking in ferrous and non-ferrous metals, including cast iron, steel, stainless steel, titanium, and high-temperature alloys, as well as secondary applications in hardened materials, ceramics, and glass.
