The M.A. FORD. 180L7504B is a solid carbide corner radius end mill engineered for high-performance finishing operations in demanding materials. Built to Series 180 specifications, it features a 3/4-inch diameter with a 0.03-inch corner radius and 7 flutes ground to a super-close pitch for smooth surface finishes. The tool carries an ALtima Blaze PVD coating, which is designed to extend tool life when cutting steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium. With a 2-1/4-inch length of cut and 5-inch overall length, this end mill is suited for reaching into pockets and contoured features without sacrificing rigidity. It is installed in a standard straight-cylindrical toolholder by machinists and CNC programmers working in production and job-shop environments.
This end mill is intended for finishing passes in ferrous and hard-to-machine materials including steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium. The right-hand cutting direction and right-hand flute spiral are standard for conventional CNC machining center setups. The medium helix angle and chip-breaker geometry support material removal control at finishing parameters. The stub length-type classification and non-extended-reach design keep deflection low in tight-tolerance applications. Machinists working with titanium or nickel-based superalloys will find the ALtima Blaze coating particularly relevant for heat resistance at the cutting edge.
Designed for use with standard straight-bore cylindrical toolholders. Primary workpiece materials are steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium (material codes P, M, S). Suitable for CNC machining centers running right-hand spindle rotation.
Installation is performed by a machinist or CNC setup technician. Secure the 3/4-inch straight-cylindrical shank in a clean, precision toolholder with proper runout verified before cutting. Power down and lock out the spindle before loading or removing the tool. Do not use this end mill as a center-cutting plunge drill - it is not centercutting and must be ramped or helically interpolated into closed pockets.
