The M.A. FORD. 18062504B is a solid carbide corner radius end mill engineered for finishing operations in demanding materials. With a 5/8-inch cutting diameter, 7-flute geometry, and a 0.03-inch corner radius, it delivers smooth surface finishes and extended tool life in applications where edge integrity matters. The ALtima Blaze PVD coating provides thermal resistance and hardness suited for high-performance cutting. At 3.5 inches overall length with a 3/4-inch length of cut, this is a stub-length tool designed for rigidity. It is installed and operated by machinists and CNC tooling specialists in production and job-shop environments.
This end mill is built for right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction in ferrous and exotic workpiece materials. Its super-close pitch and 7-flute configuration make it well suited for finish milling passes on steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium. The straight cylindrical shank accepts standard toolholders. It is a single-end, non-centercutting design, so it is not intended for plunge operations. Typical use cases include profiling, contouring, and finish passes on hardened steels and high-temperature alloys where surface quality and dimensional accuracy are critical.
Designed for use with standard straight-bore toolholders accepting a 5/8-inch straight cylindrical shank. Primary workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium (material codes P, M, S). Part of M.A. FORD. Series 180.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. The tool should be seated fully and evenly in the toolholder to the correct gauge length before torquing the retention mechanism per the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Confirm spindle direction is set to right-hand rotation before engaging the cut. This tool is non-centercutting and must not be used for direct plunge entry.
