The M.A. FORD 18062500B is a 7-flute solid carbide square end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding production environments. It carries a 0.625 inch (5/8 inch) cutting diameter, a 0.75 inch length of cut, and a 3.5 inch overall length. The tool features a 38-degree helical flute geometry and M.A. FORD ALtima Blaze coating, which is engineered to extend tool life in difficult-to-machine materials. The micrograin carbide substrate provides the edge toughness and hardness needed for aggressive feed rates. This end mill is installed and used by machinists and toolroom professionals in CNC machining centers and manual mills.
The 18062500B is suited for milling operations in a broad range of workpiece materials, including hardened steels, cast irons, stainless steels, high-temperature alloys, and titanium alloys, corresponding to material code classifications H, K, M, P, and S. The straight-cylindrical shank with a 0.625 inch diameter fits standard ER and side-lock toolholders. It is a single-end, right-hand cut tool with right-hand flute direction, making it a conventional choice for most CNC vertical and horizontal milling setups. The non-centercutting design means it is not intended for plunge cutting applications.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills accepting a 0.625 inch straight-cylindrical shank. Suitable for workpiece material classifications H, K, M, P, and S as designated in the product specifications.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and machine power isolated. Ensure the toolholder bore and shank are clean and free of chips or coolant residue before securing. Verify runout after clamping using an indicator before beginning a cut. Consult machine manufacturer torque specifications for the toolholder type in use.
