The M.A. FORD. 18050014B is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for finishing operations in demanding materials including steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium. With a 1/2 inch cutting diameter, a 0.03 inch corner radius, and 7 flutes in a super close pitch configuration, this tool is built to produce smooth, accurate edge profiles at high feed rates. The ALtima Blaze PVD coating provides thermal resistance and wear protection suited for high-temperature alloy applications. A 38-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and surface finish quality. This end mill is a single-end, short-length design with a straight cylindrical shank for use in standard toolholders.
This end mill is intended for finishing cuts in CNC machining centers and milling operations where tight tolerances and fine surface finishes are required. Primary workpiece materials include carbon steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium — materials common in aerospace, medical device, and precision manufacturing environments. The right-hand flute direction and right-hand cutting geometry are standard for conventional vertical and horizontal milling setups. It is not center-cutting and should not be used for plunge entry. Typical users include CNC machinists and toolroom operators working to close dimensional tolerances on hardened or difficult-to-machine materials.
Designed for use with standard toolholders accepting a 1/2 inch straight cylindrical shank. Suitable for steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium workpiece materials. Part of the M.A. FORD. Series 180 end mill line.
Installation is performed by CNC machinists or toolroom personnel using a compatible toolholder rated for the shank diameter and intended spindle speed. Ensure the toolholder bore is clean and free of debris before seating the shank. This tool is not center-cutting and requires a pre-drilled or pre-milled entry point for any plunging operation. Follow machine manufacturer guidelines and applicable shop safety procedures when setting tool offsets and clamping torque.
