The M.A. FORD 18025000B is a 7-flute solid carbide square end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding metalworking applications. Built from micrograin carbide and coated with ALtima Blaze, this stub-length tool features a 38-degree spiral helix and right-hand cut geometry. The 0.25-inch diameter with a 0.375-inch length of cut and 2-inch overall length makes it well-suited for slotting and peripheral milling where rigidity and chip evacuation are critical. It is a single-end, straight-shank tool intended for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills operated by machinists and tooling professionals.
This end mill is engineered for cutting a broad range of workpiece materials including hardened steels, cast irons, stainless steels, carbon steels, and high-temperature superalloys, corresponding to material codes H, K, M, P, and S. The stub length configuration reduces overhang and improves rigidity in tight-clearance setups. Typical applications include finishing passes, contour milling, and shallow slotting operations where tool deflection control is essential. The ALtima Blaze coating supports extended tool life in abrasive and high-heat cutting environments.

Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the machine tool manufacturer's toolholding specifications. Secure the straight-cylindrical shank in a precision collet or end mill holder; confirm runout before cutting. This tool is not center-cutting and must not be used for direct plunge entry - use a ramping or helical entry strategy instead. Always verify spindle speed and feed rate against the material being cut and the tool manufacturer's recommended parameters before starting the operation.
