The M.A. FORD. 17825002A is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding materials. It features a 1/4 inch diameter, a 3/8 inch length of cut, and a 0.015 inch corner radius across 5 right-hand spiral flutes. The tool measures 2 inches overall with a 1/4 inch straight cylindrical shank. An AlTiN (ALtima) PVD coating provides thermal and wear resistance, making this cutter suitable for aggressive cutting cycles. It is single-end, center-cutting, and configured for both roughing and finishing operations in a single tool.
This end mill is engineered for machining steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium. The close pitch flute geometry and 38-degree medium helix angle support chip control in tough, high-work-hardening materials. It is well-suited for CNC milling centers in job shops, tool rooms, and production environments where consistent edge geometry on corner radii is critical. Series 178 tooling from M.A. FORD. is intended for use with standard straight-shank toolholders.
Designed for use with standard straight-shank toolholders accepting a 1/4 inch shank. Suitable for CNC machining centers processing steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium workpieces.
Installation is performed by a machinist or CNC setup technician. Secure the shank in a compatible toolholder and verify runout before cutting. Power down and lock out the spindle before tool changes. Do not exceed the recommended depth of cut or feed rate for the workpiece material and machine rigidity.
