The M.A. FORD 177L2360R020N5A is a solid carbide corner radius end mill engineered for demanding metal removal in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium. Part of the Series 177L, it features a 6 mm cutting diameter, a 0.5 mm corner radius, and four flutes with a variable helix geometry that reduces chatter during both roughing and finishing passes. The ALTiN (ALtima) PVD coating provides thermal resistance and hardness at the cutting edge, extending tool life in high-temperature alloy applications. With an overall length of 101 mm and extended reach design, this end mill suits deep-pocket and long-reach machining setups. It is centercutting and suitable for plunge entry.
This end mill is designed for use in CNC machining centers and milling operations targeting steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium workpieces. The 12 mm length of cut and 31 mm reach length make it well suited for slot milling, peripheral finishing, and corner radius profiling in medium-to-deep features. The straight cylindrical shank mounts directly into standard collet chucks and toolholders compatible with 6 mm shank tooling. Its right-hand flute direction and right-hand cutting orientation are standard for conventional CNC milling setups.
Designed for use with standard 6 mm straight-bore collet chucks and toolholders. Primary workpiece materials include steel (P), stainless steel (M), cast iron (K), and superalloys and titanium (S) per ISO material classification.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in an e-stop or lockout state before changing tooling. Seat the 6 mm straight shank fully into the toolholder to the recommended minimum engagement depth per the toolholder manufacturer's specifications. Verify runout with a dial indicator before commencing a cut, particularly given the 5.80 mm neck diameter, which reduces radial stiffness relative to the shank.
