The M.A. FORD 17750028AW is a solid carbide corner radius end mill engineered for high-performance material removal in demanding machining environments. Built to Series 177 standards, it features a 1/2 inch cutting diameter, a 1/8 inch (0.1250 inch) corner radius, and a 1-1/4 inch length of cut. The tool carries an ALTiN (ALtima) PVD coating applied via physical vapor deposition, which increases surface hardness and thermal resistance during high-speed cutting. The variable helix flute geometry reduces chatter and harmonics, making this tool effective for both roughing and finishing operations. It is a single-end, centercutting design with right-hand flute direction and right-hand cutting direction, suited for CNC machining centers and manual mills equipped with compatible toolholders.
This end mill is designed for use on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium - material application codes P, M, K, and S. The Weldon flat shank provides positive drive engagement in Weldon-style and compatible toolholders, reducing pullout risk under aggressive cutting conditions. The 3 inch overall length and regular-length flute classification make it a practical choice for standard-depth pocketing, contouring, and profiling operations in job shops, tool rooms, and production machining environments. Coolant-through is not available on this tool, so external flood or mist coolant should be applied when cutting heat-sensitive materials such as titanium or stainless steel.

Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Secure the Weldon flat shank firmly in a matched toolholder and verify runout with a dial indicator before cutting. Power down the spindle and engage all machine locks before changing or inspecting the tool. Do not exceed the manufacturer-recommended speeds and feeds for the workpiece material and coating type, and apply adequate external coolant when machining heat-sensitive alloys.
