The M.A. FORD 17721810A is a solid micrograin carbide square end mill designed for high-performance milling across a range of workpiece materials. It carries a 0.2187 inch cutting diameter with a 0.4375 inch length of cut and a 0.25 inch straight-cylindrical shank. Overall length is 2.5 inches. The four-flute, variable-helix geometry at 35/38 degrees reduces chatter and improves chip evacuation compared to fixed-helix designs. An ALtima coating adds heat and wear resistance for extended tool life in demanding cuts. Centercutting capability allows plunge entry. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute orientation are standard for conventional CNC machining center use.
This end mill is suited for milling ferrous and non-ferrous metals, heat-resistant alloys, and stainless steels. Primary workpiece material codes H, K, M, P, and S cover hardened steels, cast irons, mild steels, non-ferrous metals, and high-temperature alloys. Typical applications include slot milling, profiling, and contour work on CNC vertical machining centers and milling machines in production and job-shop environments.
