The M.A. FORD. 16906250R.010A is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling in demanding metalworking applications. It features a 1/16 inch (0.0625 inch) mill diameter, a 0.010 inch corner radius, and 3 right-hand spiral flutes with a medium helix angle of 30 degrees. The cutting geometry is centercutting, allowing plunge entry, and the end mill is coated with ALtima AlTiN via a PVD process for extended tool life at elevated temperatures. Licensed machinists and CNC programmers in job shops, production facilities, and toolrooms are the primary users of this tool.
This end mill is built for both roughing and finishing passes on a wide range of workpiece materials, including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. Its short flute geometry with a 1/8 inch length of cut and 1/8 inch reach length makes it well suited for tight-tolerance features such as small pockets, slots, and contoured profiles where rigidity and corner integrity are critical. It mounts in a standard straight-bore toolholder with a 1/8 inch shank diameter.
Designed for use with standard straight-bore toolholders accepting a 1/8 inch shank diameter. Suitable for CNC machining centers and manual mills where small-diameter solid carbide end mills are required. Compatible workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials per the M.A. FORD. Series 169 material application classification (P, M, K, N, S, H).
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the tool from the toolholder. Use a torque-rated collet or end mill holder appropriate for 1/8 inch shank tooling and confirm runout with a dial indicator before production cuts. Due to the small diameter of this tool, avoid excessive overhang beyond the recommended reach length to prevent deflection or breakage.
