The M.A. FORD. 16903120A is a solid carbide square end mill engineered for precision milling in demanding machining environments. With a 0.0312 inch (1/32 inch) cutting diameter and a 0.0625 inch length of cut, this stub-length tool is designed for tight-tolerance work where rigidity and minimal deflection are critical. The 3-flute geometry paired with a 30-degree right-hand spiral helix provides efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. The ALtima coating extends tool life across a wide range of workpiece materials. Machinists and CNC operators working in job shops, tool rooms, or production environments will find this end mill well suited for fine detail work and slotting in harder and exotic materials.
This end mill is built for use across multiple material categories including hardened steels, cast iron, stainless steel, non-ferrous metals, carbon and alloy steels, and high-temperature superalloys, corresponding to material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S. The stub length classification makes it ideal for applications requiring maximum stiffness in shallow-depth cuts. It fits standard 1/8 inch straight-cylindrical shank collets commonly found on CNC milling machines, machining centers, and manual knee mills. Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following standard tooling change procedures. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the end mill from the collet. Use a calibrated torque wrench and the collet manufacturer's specified tightening procedure to secure the shank. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning cuts, as micro-diameter end mills are sensitive to even minor collet or spindle runout.
