The M.A. FORD 16525000A is a solid carbide ball end mill designed for precision milling in demanding metal-cutting applications. Built on the Series 165 platform, it features a 0.25-inch mill diameter, a 0.5-inch length of cut, and four right-hand spiral flutes with a 30-degree helix angle. The cutting end carries a 0.125-inch nose radius, producing smooth, accurate contoured surfaces. An AlTiN coating provides oxidation resistance and extended tool life at elevated cutting temperatures. This is a single-end tool with a 0.25-inch shank diameter and a 2.0-inch overall length, sized for stub-length applications where rigidity and minimal runout are priorities.
This end mill is suited for contour milling, 3D profiling, and finishing operations on a broad range of workpiece materials. The material code coverage includes hardened steels, cast irons, stainless steels, non-ferrous metals, general steels, and high-temperature alloys, making it a versatile option across job shop and production environments. It is installed in CNC machining centers, vertical mills, and multi-axis platforms where a 0.25-inch collet or end mill holder is used. The stub length and four-flute geometry support higher feed rates in short-reach setups.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills equipped with a 0.25-inch collet, shrink-fit holder, or end mill holder. Compatible with workpiece material categories H, K, M, N, P, and S as designated in the supplier specification, covering hardened steels, cast irons, stainless steels, non-ferrous materials, general steels, and superalloys.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians. The machine spindle must be fully stopped and the tool changer or spindle lock engaged before mounting or removing the end mill. Ensure the collet or holder bore is clean and free of chips before seating the shank. Verify runout with a dial indicator after clamping, as excessive runout accelerates wear and reduces surface finish quality on ball-end operations.
