The M.A. FORD 16443750A is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in demanding industrial and machining applications. With a 7/16 inch (0.4375 inch) mill diameter and a 5/8 inch length of cut, this stub-length tool delivers rigidity and control in tight setups. The micrograin carbide substrate is coated with TiAlN for extended tool life at elevated cutting temperatures. A 30-degree right-hand helix promotes efficient chip evacuation, and the center-cutting geometry allows plunge entry. This end mill is installed by machinists and tool-and-die professionals running CNC mills, VMCs, and manual knee mills.
The 16443750A is suited for milling ferrous and non-ferrous materials across a broad range of workpiece categories, including cast iron, non-ferrous metals, stainless steel, heat-resistant alloys, and long-chipping materials as indicated by primary workpiece material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S. The stub-length configuration keeps overhang minimal, making it a practical choice for shoulder milling, slotting, and profiling operations where tool deflection must be controlled. Designed for use in standard 7/16 inch collets, end mill holders, or shrink-fit toolholders on CNC machining centers and manual milling machines. Primary workpiece material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S are specified by the manufacturer for this tool.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the tool from the holder. Seat the straight cylindrical shank fully into the collet or end mill holder and torque the retention nut to the toolholder manufacturer's specification. Confirm runout with a dial indicator before beginning a production cut to protect both the tool and the workpiece.
