The M.A. FORD 16423620A is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in a wide range of materials. It features a 0.2362 inch (6 mm) cutting diameter and a 0.5118 inch (13 mm) length of cut, making it a stub-length tool suited for rigidity in tight-clearance setups. The ALtima coating provides wear resistance and thermal protection during cutting. With a 30-degree helix angle and right-hand helical flutes, this tool promotes efficient chip evacuation. It is center-cutting capable, meaning it can be used for plunge operations. Machinists and tool and die professionals rely on tools in this class for demanding metal removal work.
This end mill is rated for use across a broad spectrum of workpiece materials, including cast iron, non-ferrous metals, stainless steel, steel, and high-temperature alloys, as reflected in the primary material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S. The stub-length profile reduces deflection during high-feed passes or when working in harder materials. The straight-cylindrical shank seats directly into standard collet chucks or end mill holders. It is a single-end tool from M.A. FORD Series 164, a line intended for general-purpose to mid-performance milling applications in production and job shop environments.
Designed for use with standard collet chucks and end mill holders accepting a 0.2362 inch (6 mm) straight-cylindrical shank. Suitable for milling cast iron, non-ferrous metals, stainless steel, carbon steel, and high-temperature alloys per M.A. FORD Series 164 material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool holder is clean and free of debris before seating the shank. Torque the collet nut or set screw to the machine manufacturer's specification using the appropriate spanner or hex key. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut to protect the cutting edge and workpiece tolerance.
