The M.A. FORD. 16417180 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metalworking and machining applications. Built from micrograin solid carbide, it delivers rigidity and wear resistance suited to demanding cuts. The mill measures 11/64 inch (0.1719 inch) in diameter with a 3/8 inch length of cut and a 2 inch overall length. It features a 2-flute, right-hand spiral configuration with a 30-degree helix angle, making it effective for achieving clean finishes and efficient chip evacuation. Centercutting geometry allows for plunge milling as well as peripheral cuts. This uncoated tool is a stub-length end mill intended for shop environments where close-tolerance work is required.
This end mill is suitable for milling operations on a range of workpiece materials, including ferrous metals, cast irons, stainless steels, non-ferrous metals, and high-temperature alloys, corresponding to primary workpiece material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S. It fits standard CNC machining centers and manual milling machines equipped with a 3/16 inch straight-cylindrical shank collet or chuck. The stub-length profile provides added rigidity in confined setups or where minimal tool overhang is required. It is part of the M.A. FORD. Series 164 product line.

Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician with the machine fully powered down and the spindle at a complete stop. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or damage before each use and replace the tool if edge integrity is compromised.
