The M.A. FORD. 16406250 is a square-end, single-end solid carbide end mill designed for precision milling in a wide range of materials. Built from micrograin carbide, it delivers the rigidity and edge retention required for close-tolerance work at small diameters. The cutting diameter is 0.0625 inches with a length of cut of 0.125 inches and an overall length of 1.5 inches. The 30-degree spiral flute geometry promotes efficient chip evacuation while maintaining a stable cut. With a right-hand cut and right-hand flute direction, it is centercutting, allowing plunge entry where needed. Two flutes keep this tool agile in fine-detail applications where chip load management is critical.
This end mill is suited for use in CNC machining centers, manual mills, and high-speed spindle setups where small-diameter tooling is required. The stub length format provides added rigidity, reducing deflection in applications where depth of cut is shallow and precision is the priority. Primary workpiece material codes indicate suitability across cast iron, nonferrous metals, stainless steel, steel, and heat-resistant superalloys. It is part of the Series 164 lineup and carries a straight-cylindrical shank of 0.125 inches for standard collet or end mill holder mounting.

Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Ensure the spindle is fully powered down and the machine is in a safe state before loading or changing tooling. Secure the straight-cylindrical shank firmly in a properly sized collet or end mill holder, verifying runout before beginning a cut. At this diameter, excessive runout or improper clamping will result in tool breakage.
