The M.A. FORD. 16350000 is a 4-flute, solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling across a wide range of metalworking and machining applications. Built from micrograin carbide stock, this tool delivers the rigidity and edge retention required for demanding cuts in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. It carries a 1/2-inch mill diameter with a stub-length profile, a 5/8-inch length of cut, and a 2-1/2-inch overall length. The 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. This tool is uncoated and center-cutting, making it suitable for both plunge and side milling operations. Installed by machinists and CNC operators in production and job-shop environments.
This end mill is suited for use in vertical and horizontal milling centers, CNC machining centers, and manual mills where a 1/2-inch straight-cylindrical shank is compatible. The Series 163 stub-length design reduces deflection in short-reach applications. The right-hand cut and right-hand flute configuration follows standard industry orientation. Applicable workpiece material codes include H, K, M, N, P, and S, covering cast iron, non-ferrous metals, stainless steel, steel, and high-temperature alloys.
Compatible with milling machines and CNC machining centers accepting a 1/2-inch straight-cylindrical shank. Suitable for workpiece materials corresponding to codes H, K, M, N, P, and S as specified by the manufacturer.
Installation and tool changes must be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and the machine in a locked-out, de-energized state per applicable OSHA lockout/tagout procedures. Verify that the tool holder collet or end mill chuck is clean and properly torqued to the holder manufacturer specification before running. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or wear before each use. Never exceed the recommended speeds and feeds for the workpiece material and cutter geometry.
