The M.A. FORD. 16343750 is a solid carbide square end mill engineered for high-performance milling in demanding trade and production environments. Built on the Series 163 platform with a micrograin carbide grade, this stub-length tool delivers rigidity and edge retention across a range of workpiece materials. The 7/16 inch diameter cutter carries four spiral flutes at a 30-degree helix angle, producing a smooth, efficient cut. Overall length is 2.5 inches with a 5/8 inch length of cut, keeping deflection low during aggressive passes. The straight cylindrical shank measures 7/16 inch in diameter, fitting standard collet and end mill holders. The uncoated finish makes it suitable for applications where coating compatibility or re-sharpening is a priority.
This end mill is designed for machining a wide range of materials including cast iron, non-ferrous metals, steel, stainless steel, heat-resistant alloys, and super alloys, corresponding to material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S. The stub length and centercutting geometry make it well-suited for slotting, plunging, and peripheral milling operations in both manual and CNC machining setups. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute configuration are standard for conventional spindle direction use.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct application end mill for use in standard collet chucks, end mill holders, and hydraulic holders accepting a 7/16 inch straight cylindrical shank. Compatible with workpiece material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S as designated in the product specifications.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool holder is clean and free of debris before seating the shank. Confirm runout with a dial indicator after clamping to verify alignment within acceptable tolerances. Follow machine manufacturer guidelines for feed rate, spindle speed, and depth of cut appropriate to the workpiece material and operation type.
