The M.A. FORD 16331500C is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision material removal in CNC machining and manual milling operations. The tool features a 0.3150-inch cutting diameter with a 0.5118-inch length of cut, a straight-cylindrical shank at 0.315 inches in diameter, and a 30-degree helical flute geometry across 4 flutes. Manufactured from micrograin solid carbide and finished with a TiCN coating, the 16331500C is built for extended tool life and consistent performance in demanding cutting environments. This is a stub-length configuration, making it well suited for rigid setups where deflection control is critical.
This end mill is rated for a broad range of workpiece materials including hardened steels, cast irons, stainless steels, non-ferrous metals, steel alloys, and high-temperature alloys, as indicated by primary workpiece material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S. It is intended for use in production shops, tool rooms, and job shops where close-tolerance milling is required. The right-hand cut and right-hand flute direction are standard for conventional CNC spindle configurations. The stub length format is commonly chosen for face milling, slotting, and profiling passes where maximum rigidity is preferred over extended reach.
The 16331500C belongs to M.A. FORD Series 163 and is designed for use in standard straight-shank tool holders accepting a 0.315-inch shank diameter. Compatible with machining centers and milling machines running right-hand spindle rotation. Suitable for workpiece materials designated under codes H, K, M, N, P, and S per the manufacturer specification.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Secure the shank in a clean, properly sized collet or end mill holder to the full recommended grip length before operation. Inspect the tool holder and collet for wear or runout before mounting. Follow machine tool manufacturer guidelines and applicable shop safety procedures when setting tool offsets and initiating cuts.
