The M.A. FORD. 16331250A is a 4-flute, solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling across a broad range of workpiece materials. Built from micrograin carbide and finished with a TiAlN coating, this stub-length end mill delivers strong wear resistance and thermal stability during cutting operations. It features a 5/16 inch cutting diameter, a 1/2 inch length of cut, and a 2 inch overall length. The right-hand cut, right-hand spiral flute geometry and centercutting capability make it suitable for slotting, profiling, and plunge operations in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Licensed machinists and CNC operators in job shops and production environments are the primary installers.
This end mill is suited for machining a wide range of materials, including hardened steels, cast iron, stainless steel, aluminum, titanium, and high-temperature alloys, as reflected by its primary workpiece material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S. The stub length format provides rigidity in tight-reach applications where chatter and deflection must be minimized. It fits standard tool holders accepting a 5/16 inch straight cylindrical shank. Series 163 from M.A. FORD. is targeted at general-purpose and semi-finishing milling work on CNC machining centers and manual mills.
Designed for use with standard tool holders accepting a 5/16 inch straight cylindrical shank. Suitable for workpiece material categories H, K, M, N, P, and S as designated by M.A. FORD. Series 163 specifications.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool holder is clean and free of debris before seating the shank. Verify runout with a dial indicator after clamping to confirm concentricity within acceptable tolerance. Follow the machine tool manufacturer and applicable shop safety standards when setting cutting parameters for the workpiece material.
