The M.A. FORD. 16318750A is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision material removal in machining operations. Built from micrograin solid carbide and coated with TiAlN for heat and wear resistance, this tool handles demanding cutting applications across a range of workpiece materials. It features a 3/16 inch cutting diameter, a 3/8 inch length of cut, and a 4-flute configuration with a 30-degree right-hand spiral helix. The stub-length profile provides added rigidity, reducing deflection during aggressive cuts. It is center-cutting and suited for plunge and peripheral milling operations.
This end mill is part of M.A. FORD. Series 163 and is intended for use on CNC machining centers and manual knee mills where tight tolerances are required. The TiAlN coating makes it particularly effective on harder materials, including hardened steels, cast iron, stainless steel, titanium, non-ferrous alloys, and high-temperature alloys. The straight-cylindrical shank seats cleanly in standard collet chucks and end mill holders with a 3/16 inch bore. It is a single-end tool sold individually.
Designed for use with standard 3/16 inch collet chucks and end mill holders on CNC machining centers and manual milling machines. Compatible workpiece material codes include H, K, M, N, P, and S, covering hardened steels, cast iron, stainless steel, non-ferrous materials, steel, and high-temperature alloys.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe state before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the holder and torque the collet nut to the tool holder manufacturer's specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before commencing a cut, and confirm that cutting parameters match the workpiece material and machine capability.
