The M.A. FORD 16314060R.010 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling in a wide range of metalworking applications. It carries a 0.1406 inch (9/64 inch) mill diameter, a 0.01 inch corner radius, and four right-hand spiral flutes in a normal pitch configuration. The bright/uncoated finish is suited for materials where coating interference or heat buildup is a concern. At 2 inches overall length with a 5/16 inch length of cut, this is a short-length tool built for rigidity and accurate corner profiling. Licensed machinists and CNC operators are the primary installers and end users.
This end mill is used in milling centers, vertical machining centers, and CNC mills where corner radius profiling and blending are required on ferrous and non-ferrous workpieces. Its centercutting capability allows plunge entry without a pre-drilled hole, making it adaptable for pocketing and contouring operations. The straight-cylindrical shank is compatible with standard collet-style toolholders. Material removal type covers both roughing and finishing passes, reducing the need for tool changes in multi-step operations.
Designed for use with standard collet and shrink-fit toolholders accepting a 3/16 inch (0.1875 inch) straight-cylindrical shank. Suitable for machining steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials (ISO material codes P, M, K, N, S, H). Part of the M.A. FORD Series 163 end mill family.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Secure the shank fully within the toolholder to the recommended grip depth before tightening; never grip on the fluted section. Verify spindle runout and toolholder concentricity before use, as small-diameter carbide tools are sensitive to deflection and can fracture under eccentric loading. Inspect the cutting edges under magnification before each use and replace the tool at first sign of chipping or edge wear.
