The M.A. FORD 16310930A is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations across a range of materials. With a 0.1093 inch (7/64 inch) cutting diameter and a 0.2188 inch (7/32 inch) length of cut, this stub-length tool delivers rigid, accurate performance in tight setups where deflection control matters. The 4-flute geometry and 30-degree right-hand spiral helix promote efficient chip evacuation while maintaining a clean finish. The ALtima coating extends tool life in demanding cutting conditions. The 0.125 inch straight-cylindrical shank fits standard collets and tool holders. Machining professionals and CNC operators use this end mill for finish and semi-finish passes in both horizontal and vertical milling applications.
This end mill is suited for milling operations in ferrous and non-ferrous metals, cast iron, stainless steel, titanium, and high-temperature alloys, consistent with the M.A. FORD Series 163 application range covering material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S. The stub overall length of 1.5 inches makes it appropriate for short-reach profiling, slotting, and contouring work where a longer reach is not required. It is a single-end, center-cutting tool, meaning it can be plunged directly into the workpiece when the application calls for it. CNC shops and manual milling operations alike use this size for detail work and smaller-feature geometry.
Designed for use with standard 1/8 inch straight-cylindrical collets and tool holders. Compatible with material types coded H (hardened steel), K (cast iron), M (stainless steel), N (non-ferrous), P (steel), and S (high-temperature alloys) per M.A. FORD Series 163 classification. Part of the M.A. FORD Series 163 stub end mill line.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down or in a safe state before inserting or removing the tool from the collet or tool holder. Confirm collet size matches the 0.125 inch shank diameter before tightening to prevent runout or tool pull-out. Inspect the cutting edges and coating for damage before each use; do not run chipped or worn tooling.
