The M.A. FORD 16307810 is a solid carbide square end mill engineered for precision milling in demanding metalworking and machining applications. Built on the Series 163 platform, this stub-length end mill measures 0.0781 inches (5/64 inch) in cutting diameter with a 5/32-inch length of cut and a 1/8-inch straight cylindrical shank. The four-flute, right-hand spiral design with a 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and stable cutting action. Micrograin carbide construction delivers hardness and wear resistance suited for tight-tolerance work. It is centercutting, allowing plunge entry. Licensed machinists and CNC operators are the typical installers.
This end mill is suited for milling operations on a range of workpiece materials including hardened steels, cast irons, stainless steels, non-ferrous metals, carbon and alloy steels, and high-temperature alloys, as indicated by primary workpiece material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S. The stub length and small diameter make it well suited for slotting, profiling, and pocketing in confined features or thin-wall sections. It is commonly used in CNC machining centers and manual knee mills where high-precision, small-feature work is required.
Designed as an OEM-style tooling solution for use in standard 1/8-inch collets or tool holders on CNC machining centers and manual milling machines where straight cylindrical shank end mills are specified.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Secure the 1/8-inch shank in a clean, properly sized collet or end mill holder and torque to the machine manufacturer's specification. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or wear before each use, as carbide tooling can fracture if run in damaged condition.
