The M.A. FORD 15719680A is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in demanding metalworking applications. Built from micrograin carbide and finished with an ALtima coating, this end mill delivers extended tool life and thermal resistance at elevated cutting speeds. It features a 0.1968-inch cutting diameter, a 0.5906-inch length of cut, and a 45-degree helical flute geometry with 4 flutes for efficient chip evacuation. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 0.2362 inches in diameter with a total overall length of 90 mm. This tool is suited for machinists, toolroom operators, and CNC programmers working on close-tolerance features in ferrous and non-ferrous materials.
The 15719680A belongs to M.A. FORD Series 157 and is engineered for right-hand cut, right-hand flute operation. The 45-degree helix angle reduces cutting forces and improves surface finish in slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling operations. Workpiece material codes H, M, P, and S indicate suitability for hardened steels, stainless and heat-resistant alloys, carbon and alloy steels, and superalloys. The centercutting design allows for plunge entry, adding versatility in complex machining programs.
Rated for primary workpiece material codes H, M, P, and S, covering hardened steels, stainless and heat-resistant alloys, general carbon and alloy steels, and superalloys. Designed as an OEM-specification tool in the M.A. FORD Series 157 end mill family.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Seat the straight-cylindrical shank fully into the collet or end mill holder and torque the retention mechanism per the toolholder manufacturer specification before spindle operation. Verify runout with a dial indicator before cutting, as excessive runout accelerates wear on small-diameter carbide tools. Do not exceed the tool manufacturer recommended cutting parameters for the workpiece material being machined.
