The M.A. FORD 15712502A is a solid carbide corner radius end mill engineered for high-performance material removal in hard workpiece materials. With a 1/8 inch cutting diameter and a 0.02 inch corner radius, it produces blended transitions between floor and wall surfaces while reducing stress concentrations at the corner. The 4-flute, right-hand spiral geometry handles both roughing and finishing operations in a single tool. An ALtima 52 PVD coating extends tool life in abrasive and hardened materials. This end mill is part of M.A. FORD Series 157 and is suited for precision mold, die, and aerospace component work where tight tolerances and surface finish matter.
This end mill is designed for use in CNC machining centers and high-speed milling applications targeting hard materials. The 3/8 inch length of cut and 3 inch overall length provide adequate reach for common cavity and contour milling operations without excessive overhang. The straight cylindrical 1/4 inch shank is compatible with standard end mill holders and collet chucks used in vertical and horizontal machining centers. Centercutting capability allows plunge entry, adding flexibility for ramping and helical interpolation strategies commonly used in die and mold work.

Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the control is in a safe state before loading or changing tooling. Secure the shank to the full recommended gauge-line depth in the toolholder to minimize runout and prevent pullout under cutting loads. Verify runout with a dial indicator before initiating the first cut, especially when working in hardened materials where tool deflection directly affects dimensional accuracy.
