The M.A. FORD. 15007810 is a solid carbide ball end mill designed for precision milling in demanding metalworking applications. With a 5/64 inch (0.0781 inch) mill diameter and a 3/16 inch length of cut, this single-end tool is built for tight-tolerance profiling, contouring, and slotting where accuracy matters. The 30-degree right-hand spiral flute geometry promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. At 1-1/2 inches overall length with a 1/8 inch shank, it is sized for use in CNC machining centers, manual mills, and high-speed spindle setups. It is installed and operated by machinists, tool-and-die makers, and precision fabricators working in production or job-shop environments.
This end mill is suited for both roughing and finishing operations across a broad range of workpiece materials. It performs in hardened materials, cast iron, stainless steel, aluminum and non-ferrous alloys, steel, and high-temperature alloys. The bright/uncoated finish makes it a straightforward choice when coating-specific considerations are not required. The ball nose profile is ideal for 3D contour milling, radius profiling, and blending operations on complex part geometries in mold, die, and general precision machining work.
Designed as an OEM-style precision cutting tool compatible with CNC and manual milling machines accepting a 1/8 inch straight shank, including collet chucks and end mill holders sized for 1/8 inch tooling. Rated for primary workpiece materials including hardened materials, cast iron, stainless steel, aluminum and non-ferrous alloys, steel, and high-temperature alloys per M.A. FORD. Series 150 specifications.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists. Secure the 1/8 inch shank in a properly sized collet or end mill holder, ensuring correct runout before operation. Verify spindle speed and feed rate are appropriate for the workpiece material and cut depth prior to engaging the tool. Never exceed the rated length of cut of 3/16 inch without confirming deflection and tool load are within acceptable limits for this diameter.
