The M.A. FORD. 13875007R.250 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-precision milling operations on non-ferrous metals. It features a 3/4 inch mill diameter and a 1/4 inch (0.2500 inch) corner radius, producing a smooth, radiused edge at the base of milled profiles to reduce stress concentrations and improve surface finish. With 3 flutes in a right-hand spiral configuration, the tool supports both roughing and finishing passes in a single setup. The 5 inch overall length and 2-1/2 inch reach length provide clearance in deeper pocket and slot applications. This end mill belongs to the M.A. FORD. Series 138 and is intended for use in CNC machining centers with standard straight-shank toolholders.
This tool is suited for milling non-ferrous materials including aluminum, brass, copper, and similar alloys in production and job-shop environments. Its centercutting design allows plunge entry, giving machinists flexibility for pocket interpolation and ramping operations. The bright/uncoated finish is appropriate for non-ferrous applications where coating buildup or heat-related edge wear is not a primary concern. The normal pitch and medium helix style balance chip evacuation with cutting stability across a range of feed and speed parameters typical for non-ferrous stock. It is intended for use with standard toolholder systems and fits 3/4 inch bore collets or milling chucks.
Designed for use with standard straight-shank toolholders accepting a 3/4 inch shank diameter. Intended for non-ferrous metal workpiece materials per Series 138 application guidelines.
Installation is performed by a machinist or tooling technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool changer or spindle is locked out before inserting or removing the end mill. Seat the 3/4 inch straight shank fully into the collet or toolholder bore and torque the retention mechanism to the toolholder manufacturer specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning cuts, as excessive runout accelerates edge wear and reduces corner radius accuracy.
