The M.A. FORD 13875007 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in non-ferrous metals and similar materials. With a 0.75 inch mill diameter and a 2.5 inch length of cut, it provides the reach and edge integrity needed for slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling operations. The 3-flute geometry with a 36-degree helix angle supports efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. At 5.0 inches overall length, this tool falls in the extra-long category, suitable for applications requiring extended reach. It is uncoated solid carbide, making it appropriate for aluminum, brass, copper, and other non-ferrous workpieces where coating interaction is a concern. Machinists and tooling setups in job shops, production machining, and aerospace component work are the primary users.
This end mill is built for non-ferrous metal milling where rigidity and precise dimensional tolerances are critical. The centercutting design allows plunge entry, expanding its use to pocketing and ramping operations without a pre-drilled entry point. The right-hand cut and right-hand flute orientation are standard for conventional CNC machining centers and manual mills. The extra-long overall length supports deep-feature machining and workholding clearance scenarios where standard-length tools cannot reach.
Designed as a Series 138 solid carbide square end mill for use in CNC machining centers and manual milling machines with a 3/4 inch collet or end mill holder accepting a straight-cylindrical shank. Intended primarily for non-ferrous metal workpiece materials.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the machine tool manufacturer's toolholding specifications. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool changer or spindle is locked out before inserting or removing the tool. Use a properly sized collet or end mill holder rated for 3/4 inch straight-cylindrical shanks and verify runout with a dial indicator before production cuts. Follow your facility's tooling and speeds-and-feeds guidelines for solid carbide end mills in non-ferrous applications.
