The M.A. FORD. 13862506R.030 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling of non-ferrous metals. It features a 5/8-inch cutting diameter with a 0.030-inch corner radius that reduces stress concentrations at part edges and extends tool life in both roughing and finishing operations. The 3-flute, right-hand spiral geometry with a medium helix provides efficient chip evacuation and smooth surface finishes. At 5 inches overall length with a 2-1/2-inch length of cut, this is a long-series tool suited for applications requiring extended reach into pockets, slots, or contoured features. The bright, uncoated finish makes it a straightforward choice for aluminum, brass, and other non-ferrous workpiece materials.
This end mill is intended for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills where a long-reach, corner-radius profile is required. The centercutting design allows plunge entry, adding flexibility to the toolpath. Its straight-cylindrical shank seats directly into standard toolholders. Machinists working with non-ferrous aerospace components, mold details, or general production work in aluminum alloys will find this tool appropriate for both slotting and peripheral milling passes. Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist familiar with CNC or manual milling equipment. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool is secured in a clean, properly sized collet or end mill holder before beginning any setup. Verify runout at the cutting diameter before the first pass, as excessive runout accelerates flute wear and compromises corner radius geometry. Follow the machine tool and toolholder manufacturer torque guidelines when clamping the shank.
