The M.A. FORD 13862506F is a solid carbide square end mill designed for high-performance material removal in non-ferrous metals and similar machinable materials. Built to Series 138 standards, it features a 0.625 inch cutting diameter, a 2.5 inch length of cut, and a 5 inch overall length. The three-flute, helical geometry runs at a 36-degree helix angle, promoting efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. A titanium diboride (TiB2) coating reduces friction and extends tool life in non-ferrous applications. Machinists and CNC operators working in job shop, production, and specialty machining environments rely on this geometry for consistent performance.
This end mill is suited for milling aluminum, copper, brass, and other non-ferrous metals where a sharp, low-friction cutting edge is critical. The right-hand cut and right-hand flute direction make it compatible with standard CNC machining centers and manual knee mills running conventional spindle rotation. The straight-cylindrical shank with h6 tolerance fits standard collet chucks and end mill holders without modification. It is a single-end, non-centercutting design intended for peripheral and slot milling operations where the 2.5 inch length of cut provides reach into deeper pockets and stepped features.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide end mill for use in standard collet chucks, shrink-fit holders, and end mill holders accepting a 0.625 inch straight-cylindrical shank. Primary workpiece material is non-ferrous metal (material code N).
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before inserting or removing the tool from its holder. Ensure the shank is seated to the full recommended engagement depth in the collet or holder to prevent pullout under load. Inspect the cutting edges and coating for chips or wear before each use - a damaged carbide end mill should not be run.
