The M.A. FORD. 13850004R.020 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precise milling operations in non-ferrous metals. It features a 1/2 inch diameter, a 0.02 inch corner radius, and 3 right-hand spiral flutes with a medium helix for balanced chip evacuation and surface finish. The 1-1/2 inch length of cut and 4 inch overall length make it well suited for both roughing and finishing passes in a single setup. The centercutting design allows plunge entry, and the bright uncoated finish is appropriate for aluminum and other non-ferrous workpiece materials. Machinists and CNC operators install this tool in compatible straight-shank toolholders on vertical or horizontal machining centers.
This end mill is built for use on non-ferrous metals including aluminum, brass, copper, and similar alloys. Its Series 138 designation places it within M.A. FORD. standard regular-length end mill lineup. The single-end design and normal pitch are appropriate for general-purpose profiling, slotting, and corner-radius blending where a sharp, uncoated carbide edge outperforms coated alternatives in gummy or sticky materials. It mounts in standard straight-cylindrical toolholders and is compatible with the toolholder interfaces common on CNC machining centers and manual knee mills.
Designed for use with straight-cylindrical toolholders. Primary workpiece material is non-ferrous metal. No specific compatible machine models were provided in the product data.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before inserting or removing the tool from the toolholder. Ensure the shank is fully seated and the toolholder collet or set screw is torqued to the toolholder specification before operation. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or damage before each use, and do not use this tool on ferrous materials outside its rated workpiece material classification.
