The M.A. FORD 13850003R.120 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling in non-ferrous metal applications. It features a 0.5 inch mill diameter, a 1.25 inch length of cut, and a 0.12 inch corner radius that blends floor and wall transitions while reducing stress concentrations at part edges. With 3 right-hand spiral flutes and a bright uncoated finish, this tool is engineered for both roughing and finishing operations in a single setup. The straight cylindrical shank measures 0.5 inch in diameter, and the overall length is 3 inches. This is a single-end, centercutting tool from M.A. FORD Series 138, suited for use in compatible toolholders on CNC machining centers and manual mills.
This end mill is intended for machinists and toolroom professionals working with non-ferrous metals such as aluminum, brass, and copper alloys. Its medium helix and normal pitch geometry support chip evacuation in softer, gummier materials where chip packing is a common concern. The centercutting design allows plunge entry, adding versatility for pocketing and slotting operations. The regular length profile keeps it rigid enough for finishing passes while the 1.25 inch reach accommodates moderate-depth features. It seats in standard straight-shank toolholders and is compatible with collet chucks and end mill holders used in typical CNC and manual milling setups.
Designed for use with standard straight-shank toolholders, collet chucks, and end mill holders. Primary workpiece material is non-ferrous metal. Part of the M.A. FORD Series 138 end mill line.
Install in a compatible toolholder and torque to the toolholder specification before engaging the spindle. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut, as excessive runout accelerates tool wear and degrades surface finish. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing or measuring the tool. Do not use this tool on ferrous materials, as the uncoated carbide substrate is optimized for non-ferrous applications.
