The M.A. FORD. 13850000R.030 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling in non-ferrous metal applications. With a 1/2 inch diameter and a 0.030 inch corner radius, it produces controlled edge breaks and smooth contoured transitions in a single pass. The three-flute, right-hand spiral geometry supports both roughing and finishing operations. At 3 inches overall length with a 5/8 inch length of cut, this stub-length tool maintains rigidity under load. It runs uncoated (bright finish), making it well-suited for aluminum, brass, copper, and similar non-ferrous workpiece materials where coating adhesion or built-up edge is a concern.
This end mill is intended for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills equipped with standard straight-shank toolholders accepting a 1/2 inch shank. The stub-length configuration reduces deflection in short-reach applications. It is centercutting, allowing plunge entry where required. Primary material application is non-ferrous metal, per UNSPSC Code 27112803. It is part of the M.A. FORD. Series 138 product line. Suitable for job shops, production machining environments, and tool and die operations where consistent corner geometry is required on aluminum and similar alloys.
Designed for use with standard straight-shank cylindrical toolholders accepting a 1/2 inch shank diameter. Intended for non-ferrous metal workpiece materials as noted in Series 138 specifications.
Installation and operation should be performed by qualified machinists familiar with CNC or manual milling equipment. Ensure the toolholder is clean and properly torqued before use, and verify spindle speed and feed rate are appropriate for the workpiece material and depth of cut. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or wear before each use, as carbide tools can fracture if run on damaged edges. Do not exceed the recommended length of cut of 5/8 inch to avoid deflection or breakage.
