The M.A. FORD. 13843750 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precise milling operations in non-ferrous metal applications. With a 7/16 inch (0.4375 inch) mill diameter and a 9/16 inch length of cut, this single-end tool delivers clean, accurate results in aluminum, brass, copper, and similar materials. The 3-flute, helical flute geometry combined with a 36-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. Built from micrograin carbide and finished with a bright/uncoated surface, this end mill is suited for machinists and tool-and-die professionals running CNC or manual milling equipment.
This end mill is intended for use on non-ferrous metals in both production and job-shop environments. The straight cylindrical shank measures 7/16 inch in diameter with an h6 tolerance, making it compatible with standard collet chucks and toolholders. The 2-3/4 inch overall length provides adequate reach for most standard milling fixtures without sacrificing rigidity. It is a single-end tool, so once the cutting end is worn, the tool is replaced rather than flipped. Typical applications include profiling, slotting, and peripheral milling on aluminum and other soft non-ferrous workpieces.
Designed as a Series 138 solid carbide square end mill optimized for non-ferrous metal workpiece materials (Material Code N). Compatible with any collet chuck or toolholder accepting a 7/16 inch straight cylindrical shank with h6 shank tolerance.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and machine power locked out per shop safety procedures. Ensure the collet or toolholder is clean and free of debris before seating the shank to maintain runout specifications. Verify that spindle speed and feed rate settings are appropriate for the workpiece material and depth of cut before engaging the tool. Do not use this end mill on ferrous materials, as it is optimized for non-ferrous applications and may wear prematurely outside its intended material class.
