The M.A. FORD 13837506 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision material removal in metalworking and machining applications. Built to Series 138 specifications, this single-end tool features a 3/8 inch cutting diameter, a 1-1/4 inch length of cut, and a 3-inch overall length. The three-flute geometry paired with a 36-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action in non-ferrous metals. The straight cylindrical shank measures 3/8 inch in diameter with an h6 tolerance, ensuring a secure fit in standard collet or end mill holders. Uncoated solid carbide construction delivers hardness and wear resistance across a range of light-duty machining operations.
This end mill is suited for slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling in non-ferrous materials such as aluminum, brass, and copper. The long-series length classification gives it additional reach for deeper pockets and stepped features compared to standard-length tools. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute orientation follow conventional spindle rotation. The centercutting design allows plunge entry directly into the workpiece, adding versatility on vertical milling machines and machining centers in job shop and production environments.
Designed for use with non-ferrous metals as the primary workpiece material. Fits standard 3/8 inch collets and end mill holders with a straight cylindrical shank. Part of the M.A. FORD Series 138 long-series square end mill line.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the machine tool manufacturer guidelines for tool holding and runout. Power down and lock out the spindle before inserting or removing the tool from the holder. Ensure the shank is fully seated and the collet or set screw is torqued to the holder specification before operation. Verify spindle rotation is set to right-hand before starting the cut.
