The M.A. FORD 13837505F is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling of non-ferrous metals and similar materials. It features a 3/8 inch cutting diameter, a 1 inch length of cut, and a 2-1/2 inch overall length with a 3/8 inch straight-cylindrical shank. Three helical flutes with a 36-degree helix angle promote efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. The TiB2 (Titanium Diboride) coating reduces friction and improves tool life in aluminum, copper, brass, and other non-ferrous workpiece materials. This is a centercutting, right-hand cut, right-hand flute tool manufactured from micrograin solid carbide stock, part of the M.A. FORD Series 138 lineup.
This end mill is suited for CNC machining centers, knee mills, and manual milling machines where non-ferrous metal removal is the primary operation. Typical applications include slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling in aluminum alloys, brass, and copper. The straight-cylindrical shank provides secure clamping in standard ER collets, end mill holders, and set-screw tool holders. It is appropriate for job shops, aerospace component shops, and production facilities requiring consistent performance on non-ferrous workpieces.
Designed for use in standard milling operations on non-ferrous metals (material code N). The 3/8 inch straight-cylindrical shank with h6 shank diameter tolerance is compatible with ER collet chucks, end mill holders, and set-screw holders accepting 3/8 inch shanks. Part of the M.A. FORD Series 138 end mill family.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool holder is clean and free of chips before seating the end mill. Tighten collet nuts or set screws to the tool holder manufacturer's specified procedure. Verify runout at the tool tip before beginning a cut, as excessive runout will accelerate wear and reduce dimensional accuracy.
