The M.A. FORD 13837503N is a solid carbide square end mill engineered for precision milling of non-ferrous metals. It features a 0.375-inch diameter cutting edge, a 0.625-inch length of cut, and a 4-inch overall length. The three-flute, right-hand helical design with a 36-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. Manufactured from micrograin carbide with a bright uncoated finish, this end mill delivers the rigidity and edge retention needed for demanding production environments. It is a single-end, center-cutting tool, suitable for slotting, profiling, and plunging operations on non-ferrous workpiece materials.
This end mill is intended for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills where non-ferrous metals such as aluminum, brass, copper, and similar alloys are the primary workpiece material. The extended reach design, with a neck length of 2.125 inches and a reach length of 2.13 inches, allows access to deeper features or recessed pockets that standard-reach tools cannot reach. It accepts a straight cylindrical shank with a 0.375-inch diameter, compatible with standard collet chucks and end mill holders. Shank diameter tolerance is held to h6 for precise runout control in tight-tolerance setups.
Designed for use with non-ferrous metal workpieces as identified by Series 138N, primary workpiece material code N. Fits standard collet chucks and end mill holders accepting a 0.375-inch straight cylindrical shank with h6 tolerance.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and machine power isolated per shop safety procedures. Confirm collet or holder bore matches the 0.375-inch shank diameter and that the tool is seated to adequate grip depth before securing. Verify spindle runout with a dial indicator before beginning a production run to protect both the tool and the workpiece. Do not exceed the tool manufacturer's recommended speeds and feeds for the specific workpiece material and depth of cut.
