The M.A. FORD 13823620 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling of non-ferrous metals. Part of the Series 138 lineup, it features a 6 mm cutting diameter with a 13 mm length of cut and a 36-degree helix angle that promotes efficient chip evacuation at higher feed rates. The micrograin carbide construction delivers the hardness and edge retention needed for consistent performance in production and job-shop environments. Three right-hand spiral flutes provide a balance between chip clearance and cutting edge strength. This tool is installed and used by machinists and CNC operators working in metalworking, aerospace, and general manufacturing applications.
This end mill is suited for milling slots, profiles, and pockets in non-ferrous materials including aluminum, copper, brass, and similar alloys. The bright, uncoated finish makes it a straightforward choice for applications where coolant is used and coating adhesion or heat buildup is not a concern. The straight cylindrical shank with h6 tolerance provides a secure, repeatable grip in standard collets and end mill holders. It is a single-end, non-center-cutting design with no chipbreaker or variable helix, keeping setup and application straightforward.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers, vertical mills, and manual knee mills equipped with standard collets or end mill holders accepting a 6 mm straight shank. Optimized for non-ferrous metal workpiece materials per Series 138 application guidelines.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down or in a safe state before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully in the collet or holder to the recommended engagement depth and torque the retention hardware per the tool holder manufacturer specifications. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a production run to protect both the tool and the workpiece.
