The M.A. FORD 13818751F is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling of non-ferrous metals. It features a 0.1875-inch (3/16 inch) cutting diameter with a 0.375-inch length of cut and a 2-inch overall length. The three-flute, helical design runs at a 36-degree helix angle, promoting efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. Manufactured from micrograin solid carbide and coated with titanium diboride (TiB2), this end mill delivers hardness and wear resistance suited to demanding cutting applications. It is centercutting, allowing plunge entry, and is ground to a tight mill diameter tolerance of +0.000 to -0.0005 inches.
This end mill is intended for machining non-ferrous metals such as aluminum, copper, brass, and similar materials. The titanium diboride coating reduces built-up edge on soft, gummy alloys, making it a practical choice for production and maintenance machining environments. With a straight-cylindrical shank at 0.1875 inches diameter (h6 tolerance), it seats securely in standard collet chucks and end mill holders. It is suited for CNC machining centers, manual knee mills, and toolroom applications where dimensional accuracy on non-ferrous workpieces is required.
Designed for use with non-ferrous metals as the primary workpiece material (material code N). Fits standard collet chucks and end mill holders accepting a 3/16-inch straight-cylindrical shank. Part of M.A. FORD Series 138.
Installation is performed by machinists or toolroom technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the collet or holder and torque the retention mechanism per the tool holder manufacturer's specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning the cut, as excessive runout accelerates carbide wear and can cause chipping.
