The M.A. FORD. 13812508NR.015 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling in non-ferrous metals and similar materials. It features a 1/8 inch mill diameter with a 0.015 inch corner radius and a 3/16 inch length of cut, producing smooth, radius-relieved edges that reduce stress concentrations and extend tool life. With 3 right-hand spiral flutes and a bright uncoated finish, this single-end mill handles both roughing and finishing passes in a single tool. It carries a 2 inch overall length and a 1/2 inch reach length, making it well suited for shallow-pocket and contour work. CNC machinists and tool-and-die professionals are the primary users of this type of tooling.
This end mill is built for use in non-ferrous metal applications, including aluminum, brass, copper, and similar materials where chip evacuation and edge quality are priorities. The centercutting geometry allows plunge entry directly into the workpiece, supporting interpolated pocket entry without a pre-drilled pilot hole. The short flute length and straight cylindrical shank are compatible with standard precision toolholders used on CNC machining centers and manual knee mills. The Series 138 designation places it within M.A. FORD.'s short-length corner radius product family.
Designed for use with standard precision toolholders on CNC machining centers and manual milling machines. Primary workpiece material is non-ferrous metal. Shank type is straight-cylindrical at 1/8 inch diameter, compatible with collet chucks and end mill holders accepting that shank size.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool is secured in a clean, properly sized collet or end mill holder before tightening. Confirm runout with a dial indicator before initiating a cutting program, as excessive runout accelerates wear on carbide tooling. Follow the machine manufacturer and toolholder manufacturer specifications for pull-out force and clamping torque for the holder type in use.
