The M.A. FORD. 13812501R.030 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precise milling operations in non-ferrous metal applications. With a 1/8 inch cutting diameter and a 0.030 inch corner radius, this tool produces smooth, radiused edges while reducing stress concentrations at part corners. The 3-flute, right-hand spiral geometry supports both roughing and finishing passes in a single tool. The bright, uncoated finish makes it well suited for aluminum, brass, copper, and other non-ferrous workpiece materials. Centercutting capability allows plunge entry directly into the workpiece. Licensed machinists and CNC operators handling precision part programs are the typical end users.
This end mill fits standard straight-cylindrical toolholders with a 1/8 inch shank bore. The short flute length of 1/4 inch and 1-1/2 inch overall length make it appropriate for tight-clearance pockets, slots, and contour passes on CNC machining centers and manual mills where minimal overhang is required. The Series 138 designation places it within M.A. FORD.s short-length corner radius line. Primary application is non-ferrous metal stock, including aluminum alloys and copper-based materials where edge integrity and surface finish matter.
Designed for use with standard straight-cylindrical toolholders accepting a 1/8 inch shank diameter. Primary workpiece material compatibility is non-ferrous metal (material code N), including aluminum and copper-based alloys.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the machine spindle fully stopped and locked out per shop safety procedures. Ensure the toolholder collet or chuck is clean and free of chips before seating the shank to the correct gauge length. Verify runout with a dial indicator after clamping, as excessive runout accelerates wear on small-diameter carbide tools. Do not exceed the toolholder manufacturers recommended torque range when tightening collet nuts.
