The M.A. FORD. 13650007 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for high-precision milling of non-ferrous metals. Built from micrograin carbide, it delivers tight dimensional control with a mill diameter tolerance of +0.000 to -0.003 inches. The 45-degree helical flute geometry promotes aggressive chip evacuation and reduces cutting forces. With a 0.5-inch diameter and 2.5-inch length of cut, this two-flute end mill suits slotting, profiling, and pocketing operations where chip clearance and surface finish matter. It ships bright and uncoated, making it well matched to aluminum, brass, copper, and similar non-ferrous workpiece materials. Machinists and tool-and-die technicians are the primary users.
This end mill fits standard CNC machining centers and manual mills equipped with a straight cylindrical tool holder accepting a 0.5-inch shank. Its 5-inch overall length provides reach for deeper setups while the helical flute design keeps deflection manageable. The Series 136 classification positions it as a general-purpose non-ferrous roughing and finishing tool. The centercutting geometry allows plunge entry, expanding its usefulness in milling programs that require ramp or plunge moves without a pre-drilled pilot hole.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and manual milling machines with tool holders accepting a 0.5-inch straight cylindrical shank. Primary workpiece material compatibility is non-ferrous metals (Material Code N), including aluminum, brass, and copper alloys.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Power down and lock out the spindle before inserting or removing the tool from the holder. Ensure the shank is fully seated and the collet or end mill holder is torqued to the machine manufacturer's specification. Inspect the cutting edges for chipping before each setup, as carbide is brittle and can sustain damage if dropped or improperly stored.
