The M.A. FORD 13637501 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for high-performance material removal in non-ferrous metal applications. It features a 0.375 inch cutting diameter, a 1.5 inch length of cut, and a 45-degree helical flute geometry that promotes efficient chip evacuation and reduces cutting forces. The micrograin carbide substrate provides the hardness and edge retention needed for consistent results at elevated speeds. Supplied in a bright, uncoated finish, this end mill suits shops running aluminum, brass, copper, and similar non-ferrous workpiece materials. It is installed and operated by machinists and tool-and-die professionals on CNC mills and manual knee mills.
This end mill is suited for non-ferrous metal cutting operations in production and job-shop environments. The two-flute configuration provides larger gullet volume for chip clearance, making it effective for slotting, profiling, and pocketing in aluminum and other gummy or soft metals. The straight cylindrical shank fits standard ER collets and end mill holders with a 0.375 inch bore. Its 3.25 inch overall length accommodates moderate-depth setups without excessive overhang.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard tooling option for CNC machining centers and manual mills accepting a 0.375 inch straight cylindrical shank. Primary workpiece material code N indicates suitability for non-ferrous metals. Part of the M.A. FORD Series 136 end mill family.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the machine tool builder guidelines for tool holding and runout verification. Power down and lock out the spindle drive before inserting or removing the end mill from the holder. Seat the shank fully into an ER collet or end mill holder rated for 0.375 inch bore and torque the retention hardware per the tool holder manufacturer specification. Do not exceed the tool overhang length recommended for the diameter-to-reach ratio to avoid deflection or breakage.
