The M.A. FORD 13547209N5 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling operations on non-ferrous metals. It features a 12 mm cutting diameter and a 4 mm corner radius, making it well suited for producing smooth, radiused edges while reducing stress concentrations at corners. The 2-flute design with a coarse pitch promotes efficient chip evacuation. At 110 mm overall length with a 14 mm length of cut and a 62 mm reach length, this end mill handles both roughing and finishing passes in a single tool. It is used without coolant-through capability and carries a bright, uncoated finish. This end mill is built for use in CNC machining centers and milling machines where a straight-cylindrical shank is compatible with standard toolholders. Install and remove end mills only while the spindle is fully powered down and the machine is in a locked-out, tagged-out state per applicable shop safety procedures. Seat the 12 mm straight shank fully into the toolholder bore to the recommended engagement depth before tightening. Inspect the corner radius and cutting edges for chips or damage before each use, as carbide tools can fracture if run with pre-existing edge damage. Confirm toolholder runout is within acceptable limits, as excessive runout accelerates corner radius wear and reduces surface finish quality.
